Before taking the Advanced Motorcycle Course, I could ride from A to B, but looking back, I realise I wasn’t truly riding to a proper standard. The course itself was very well structured — interesting, enjoyable, and highly informative — even though I only had four sessions before my test. With over 60 years of driving experience around the world, I can honestly say you are never too experienced to learn something new — as they say, “every day is a school day.”

I believe the course and test deserve to be promoted more widely, particularly to younger drivers. Perhaps introducing a young person’s discount could help encourage greater participation.

I first experienced the NSADR team when I met Shaz, Ian, and the group at the Trentham Classic Car Show. I had been considering taking my Advanced Driving course for some time, and after retiring from Staffordshire Police in 1998 following 30 years of service, I felt it was the right time to renew and enhance my driving skills.

Signing up with NSADR has been an enjoyable and rewarding experience. I passed my course on 1st February with a FiRST, and throughout the process the Observers made me feel completely at ease. Their dedication and support are outstanding.
